Author mentorship, Revision Alchemy, & The Burgeon Mastermind (2022 & 2023)
Tashi Saheb-Ettaba (she/her) is a horror writer who specializes in young adult and middle grade primarily. Tashi was looking for guidance on creating a cohesive plot with a clear beginning, middle, and end, ensuring that all the elements of her story interlock seamlessly.
Before working with us, Tashi was terrified of revisions and struggling with determining whether the changes she was making were improving her novel or making it worse.
Together in our one-on-one mentorship, we clarified Tashi’s message and point of view, making sure it fit within her vision for her novel and steering away from Western storytelling, particularly regarding perspective. We worked on deepening voice, character motivation (with an emphasis on both the protagonist and antagonist), and fleshing out the setting and worldbuilding.
During the Mastermind and Revision Alchemy, Tashi has worked on revisions for FRAGMENTS OF SORROW, as well as drafts of other novels.
Since working with us, Tashi has continued to remain in the Revision Alchemy community and support the other writers in the community as she prepares to query.
